1. DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

The Social Science Department at Ba Methodist High School is committed to providing students with a comprehensive understanding of Fijian society, global cultures, and the social dynamics that shape our world. Our curriculum integrates traditional Fijian knowledge with contemporary social science disciplines to prepare students for active citizenship in both local and global contexts.

4. SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND INITIATIVES

1. Climate Change Awareness Initiative

A department organised activity to respond to the impacts of climate change on Fiji and other Pacific Island nations.

2. Ratu Sukuna Program

A week-long series of activities was organized to raise awareness about the prominent figure’s achievements and contributions to Fiji’s development.

3. Fiji Day

The department will organize activities to highlight the significance of Fiji’s independence through displays, speeches, posters, and various other initiatives.

4. Other Calendared Department Activity

  • Constitution day
  • World Environment Day,
  • World Ocean Day,
  • World Meteorological Day,
  • World Forest Day and
  • World Population Day.

Awareness of various important events will be promoted during school assemblies and in Social Science, Geography, and History classes.
